Shannon Graphics is proud to be a pioneer in the field of rendering an illustration completely within a computer. While this service has been available for some time, it used to be possible only by using a Silicon Graphics workstation, which made the timeframe and cost incredibly prohibitive to most small- and medium-sized businesses. But new advances in technology make this procedure simple, quick and inexpensive. And Shannon Graphics is committed to putting this new technology within your reach.

Using your blueprints and sketches, we model your building in true 3-D within the computer, letting you choose the exact view you want quickly and easily. Then we apply real material samples directly to the faces of your project, which can be supplied by you or from the vast library of samples we've accumulated over the past ten years. After the model is finished, we cast the lighting and create the illustration. Since the process is done in the computer, we can send you the illustration as a computer image (CompuServe GIF, JPEG, TIFF or your choice) via modem, e-mail or disk (including high-density removable storage, such as SyQuest cartridges, Zip disks or CD-ROMs), or make prints in sizes ranging from 8" × 10" all the way up to 48" × 96". We can even send the files directly to your local service bureau, where you can pick up the prints within a matter of minutes.

If you have a project that requires multiple views, different materials or multiple stages of development to be rendered, computer-rendered illustrations have a great advantage over traditional hand-drawn illustration techniques, in terms of cost. Normally hand-detailing a series of views as described above would take several days and many man-hours to finish. By keeping the process entirely within the computer, we can "recycle" the same model over and over again, and don't have to redo common elements between the different renderings. This drastically cuts down on the time needed to complete the views, thus saving you time and money.
